The “classic” reclaimed wood. Reclaimed barn wood is often found in a silvery grey, weathered patina which makes it instantly recognizable. Various barn woods are great for withstanding the elements and typically include white oak, thicker pine, fir and if you’re out west, redwood.
Barn wood makes a spectacular paneling due to the weathering on the boards. Knots are contrasted by the changes in color and texture in the wood. Often there are mixed tones and “raised grain”, where the changing seasons have left a rough, hilly appearing surface as the softer wood between the grain has diminished.
